Learn More About Polar Bears and Global Warming

Looking for a humbling experience?  Watch huge male polar bears from the safety of a tundra buggy.  These Arctic carnivores can weigh over 1300 pounds.  Polar bears are semi-aquatic:  they swim long distances and hunt on marine sea ice.   But the harsh environment they have adapted so well to is warming.  The World Conservation Union listed the polar bear as a vulnerabe species in 2006.

To learn more about where to see polar bears, click on our guides to  Northeast Greenland NP  and  Churchill, Manitoba.   To find out more about polar bears, visit  Polar Bears International  or the ICUN. or watch the National Wildlife Federation's video on polar bears and global warming.
